If a student loses a book, they will need to pay for the cost to replace it. The payment will be due at the end of the school year. Before the end of the year, the book will be looked for by the student and librarian. Sometimes the book can end up in the classroom teacher's library or a bookshelf at home.
The cost of a lost book follows these guidelines:
If a book is damaged beyond repair in a student's care, the same cost guidelines as the lost book will be followed.
There will be no penalties for book costs that are left unpaid. Costs that are left unpaid will be cleared from the student's account at the beginning of each school year.
The cost of a lost book follows these guidelines:
- Full price for books two years old or newer.
- 90% of full price for books older than two years.
- 10% will be taken off the percent owed for each year beyond three years
- No money will be owed if the cost is less than $2.00.
