Role of Library Clerk
The Library Clerk assists the Library Media Specialist. This person has office skills and has developed knowledge and skills regarding library media services. The Library Clerk is expected to maintain the privacy of the library's patrons. Responsibilities of the Library Clerk include but are not limited to:
- Checking in and checking out books
- Processing materials
- Helping with inventory
- Helping with weeding
- Repairing books
- Producing and distributing overdue notices
- Finding materials for students and teachers
- Monitoring the library and the students using it
- Operating various office machines
- Operating instructional technology tools
- Using computer programs
Library Clerk Evaluation
Each year the Library Clerk will receive an evaluation by the Library Media Specialist. Below is the evaluation form that will be used.
